Church Community in Christian growth by supporting
and helping provide  opportunities for Church 
participants to learn about
God's Word, Wisdom and Jesus Christ.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Library is committed to providing services that will fulfill the mission

of the MLK Church in proclaiming the Gospel to reach people for Jesus Christ and to minister in His name.

Our Library will provide media resources and services to support Auxiliaries, Ministries and

Individual Members of our Church Community.
 

The MLK Church Library will extend His love by providing friendly service, innovative experiences and a
 

Pleasing atmosphere that will offer/inspire opportunities to Encounter Jesus Christ.

 

Library Information

The MLK Library Dedication on Sunday, August 26, 2012,
marked the beginning of a resource for our Congregation and Community.

Currently Available in our Library:

  • Computers & Other Technical Equipment/Resources

  • Educational/Inspirational Books “Encouraging words for Life”

  • Books for Checkout, Books for Sell

  • A Place for Tutoring, Classes, Workshops

  • As well as quiet Place for Research & Homework

  •  

Library Hours: 

Sunday – 9 to 11am & 1 to 2pm

1st/2nd Saturday 12 to 2pm

 

Scholarships

Walter Smith 

 A high school scholarship created in loving memory or the first Deacon
of the MLK Church, Deacon Walter Smith, a man who loved to
help students stay in school and strive to reach their personal
and educational best.

 Leon and Rubye Jones

 A scholarship established in honor of the Beloved Pastor of the
MLK Church for 21 years, Rev. Dr. Leon C. Jones and his wife
Sister Rubye Jones, for high school seniors achieving and maintaining
Academic Excellence throughout high school
(3.20 Cumulative GPA or higher).

Scholarship: Rev. Bruce Dewayne Jenkins

Purpose: Assist High School Graduates who plan to continue their education at a
Post-Secondary Institution with a monetary Scholarship.

 

Highlights of Specific Scholarship Guidelines:
 

¨ Must have been a member of the MLK Church during the past 3 years
o
r affiliated with another church.

¨ Must have a minimum 2.75 Cumulative GPA.

The following scholarships are available to non-members: 

 

Dollars for Scholars

A matching fund scholarship program sponsored by Scholarship America 
to  assist high school and college students in obtaining their 
post secondary educational goals.

A single parent scholarship established in honor and memory of
Makeia Murphy to encourage students (males or females) to
continue pursuing their educational and career goals after high school.
